Tiger, tiger

Tiger lilies are a sure sign of summer for me. They remind me of cottages and  country-living and warm sunny days. That's why this tiger lily stamp grabbed my attention, calling "Pick me!". The lilies were stamped on white cardstock and coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.  The image was then fussy cut and popped up on foam tape.  To add texture, it was adhered to an embossed piece of black cardstock.

The next layer consisted of an orange and white dot scrap matted with black cardstock. Then I took my handy dandy piercer and punched holes using the dots as a guide so I could embroider a cross-stitch corner. The vintage black button snuggled right into that corner. The image layer was glued over the orange dotty paper and some dollar store letter beads spelled out the message. The white background is the card front which picks up the white negative space in the image.

Bright, pretty, simple...gotta love that kind of card!
Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful day.

Hula Kitty in Purple & Green

Patti's kids Hula Kitty can be found at www.stampnplus.  I paper-pieced the grass skirt after making it into fringe and adding Stickles.  Leaf is a Cheery Lynn die cut.  I added silk flowers with Stickled centers.  Tiny flowers also have Stickled centers.  The background is a slightly sanded DCWV textured cardstock that has been embossed with an embossing folder.  Lavendar background paper is also DCWV.

Thanks for looking!

Cory With Candy

I did a card with one of those adorable Patti's Kids images that I love.  Cory is enjoying some yummy candy in this one.  You can find her  HERE  at the online store. I distressed the edges of a white card with brown ink to start out.  Then I layered the floral designer paper on the card, leaving a small border.  I stamped the image and colored it with alcohol markers and then cut it out.  I adhered it to a piece of red textured card stock using dimensional dots.  Then I adhered each of the corners onto a slightly larger piece of blue textured card stock.  I also cut a thin strip from the ble and adhered it to the red check designer paper.  I took this piece and ran it between the red and blue card stock and glued the whole piece to my card.  I added a little knotted ribbon and adhered a button on it to finish off my card.  Simple and cute.
Have a great day!

Mini Pizza Box Card set

Hi and a Happy Saturday to everyone,

I have a fun project to share today featuring  a yummy stamp called Blueberry Pie Slice (you can find it in the Kitchen Craft section)

I created a Mini Pizza box to hold some 3.5 x 3.5 cards
for a cute gift card box.

Using my SCOR-PAL (inches) board and tool I created a mini pizza box
by scoring a 6 x11 piece of DCWV card stock from the Le Tres Chic line
at 1 inches on all four sides, cutting along the top, bottom and middle to create my side tabs, I then folded into my box, adhering my side tabs.
The mini Pizza Box was then decorated using paper from DCWV Chateau Lavender stack. Spellbinders Lacy Square dies, a scalloped circle die to mat my stamped image of Stamp N Plus Blueberry Pie Slice.

Here you can see the mini pizza box holds 6 cards and 6 envelopes

Each card was created to match the mini pizza box using the a smaller
Lacy square die, along with the stamped image matted onto a scalloped circle
Image was colored with Copic YR30, Y21, BG 70, B000, B02, E23,E25 and then highlighted with BG10
I then covered the white topping with STAMP N PLUS fine clear glitter and added a touch of
Stickles Star Dust to the Frosting Crowns for added bling

Thanks for visiting ! Happy Crafting!

Just a Note

When I was prowling through the Resource section at Split Coast Stampers the other day, I found this fun technique called Herringbone which seemed like a great way to use up some of my scraps. I cut a piece of cardstock to size and adhered a piece of mounting adhesive onto it. Then I cut strips about 3/8" wide and layered them onto the page alternating the two patterns. Start with the long strip that divides the rectangle into two diagonal sections. Using the same pattern, divide those two sections, offsetting them slightly and then just fill in the four sections. Seriously easy but follow the link above. Pictures explain it so much better than words.

Next I coloured up this sweet little SNP bird stamp (X818) with my Prismacolor pencils and used a Spellbinders die to cut out the label shape. Because of the busy background, I layered the image label on black cardstock and popped it up on  foam tape to make it more noticeable. A few pearl berries and a music brad were then added.

Finally, the sentiment was computer generated, coloured in with marker, matted, and attached with tiny brads. The herringbone rectangle was glued to black cardstock which was then affixed to the white card.

Thanks for visiting. Now go have yourself an awesome day!

NOT A Christmas Card!

Okay, after I completed this card, I looked at it and thought "It looks like a Christmas card!"  But really, NOBODY makes a Christmas card with strawberries on it, right?!  Besides, there is no rule saying you can't use red and green together on a non-holiday creation.   I think it looks pretty on this crisp white background.  I did some major embossing on this little gem.  First, I embossed the card itself (the front) with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I used one of the larger ones to fill the front of this larger card, then I trimmed the card down just a bit so that ALL of it was embossed without any edges.  Then I embossed the three white diecuts with another folder and adhered them to the card.  After coloring this wonderful little strawberry image, which can be found  HERE at the Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N online store, I cut it out with a punch and layered it on the punched red circles.  I used pop dots to adhere them to the card.  I love smaller images because you can use more than one on the front of your project for something differrent.  A few pearls and ribbons for embellishment and you're good to go!

you can find it in the store under the Africa & Asian collection

For my card I stamped my image with Memento Black Tuxedo ink onto solar white card stock, Colored the image with Copic and then die cut using a medium circle die. Added some paper piercing around the image with a paper piercing tool. Designer papers are from G.C.D. Christmas collection called Flower Pop. For my embellishment I used heart punches and sheer flowers with a decorative pearl brad. Sentiment was computer generated.

Happiness Shared

Happy Wednesday! Sometimes when I create a card I start with the quote and find an image to go with it. For this card, I did the opposite. I love these sweet little fairy flowers (X1345) so I started with the stamp. I just knew they would be fun to colour.

The lacy oval doily was cut using an MFT die and mounted on green cardstock. The flower fairy image was stamped in black and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. A tiny white bow was added to the bottom left of the oval.

The background paper is from DCWV Mariposa Matstack with a pretty border cut from a Memory Box die. That was then mounted on the same green cardstock for contrast. Flat back pearl trim was added above the die cut section which meant that the image layer had to be mounted on foam tape to lift it above the pearls.

The sentiment was computer generated, cut using a template, and mounted on the same green cardstock. Foam tape lifted it up to create a shadow behind it. Such a simple card but it would be great for so many occasions. It's always nice to have a few of those kind of cards on hand so that I always have one when I need it.

Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great week and finding some time to get inky.

Patti'S Kids Hula Kitty

My daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law are members of the Hula Association of the Midwest.  I often make and donate cards to sell as a fundraiser at their events.  This card was made with a Stamp N Plus Patti's Kids kitty stamp x2744.  I have many kitty stamps and Patti's Kids are among my favorites.  The background is a tropical flower embossing folder.  The ovals were cut with Spellbinders dies.  The tropical leaves were cut with a Cheery Lynn die.  Large pink flowers are Michaels wedding table confetti and other flowers were created with punches.  Tiny lei flowers are Spring confetti I found at JoAnns several years ago.  Kitty's grass skirt is paper-pieced after fringing.  Skirt and flowers are glittered with Stickles.

A Cherry On Top

Another "fruity" card this week, this time using a cherry image.  I stamped this image four times and on two of the stampings, I only colored in the cherries and cut them out.  After adhereing the full cherry images to the red squares with pop dots, I used  more pop dots and put the single cherries on top of the others. Lots of dimension here.  I also used pop dots to adhere my sentiment after putting the little eyelets on the corners.  The card measures six inches square so it would require a little more postage than a regular size card.  You will find the cherry image HERE as well as many other delicious images.

Hope You are Back on Your Paws Soon!

Hi, I am the newest member to the Stamp N Plus design team and I am sharing my first card with you today! I fell in love with all of the cute Puparazzo Pup collection, and couldn't resist this sweet little guy with his adorable sentiment!

Doesn't he just melt you heart? This is Puparazzo Pup F-PP68 with sentiment
D-PP 69. Such a sweet stamp to brighten someone's day when they aren't feeling
their best!

I inked up my stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him with Copic markers.
My design papers are from two Basic Grey 6x6 paper packs. Once colored I used Spellbinder Nestabilities circle and scallop circle dies then layer on to my card background.
Added some gross grained ribbon, button, twine and black pearls using a Viva Decor pearl pen.

Thanks for visiting!

Owl grad card

Here is my card for today's post. I used the Owl (L2267) and the alphabet stamps from Stamp N Plus to make my card. I also used powdered chalk mixed with paint to color in my owl  and to make my own yellow paper. The tree branch was cut out using my Cricut and the labels are by K & Co. Thanks for taking a look.

Dance with the Butterflies

Inspired by all of the butterflies in our garden, I wanted to create a pretty butterfly card. I stamped the large swallowtail butterfly on white cardstock and then coloured the open spaces with my Prismacolor pencils. A little glue was dabbed onto his body and some Stamp N Plus black glitter was added to give him some shine. I love this glitter because it's so fine and sparkly. Some dimensional foam was added to the back of Mr. Butterfly to lift him above the greeting.

For the background, a piece of orange patterned paper (still scrapbox digging!) was scallop punched at the bottom and lined at the top before being added to black matting. The sentiment (which really speaks to me) was written on the computer, traced with a label template, faux stitched and matted in black.

To complete the visual triangle, some paper flowers and leaves were hot glued to the bottom left corner with some K& Co. bling as their centers.

Thanks for visiting today. Remember to check out our June Black and White challenge. Link back to us and you could win a fabulous gift certificate for Stamp N Plus stamps. Maybe you'll want this swallowtail butterfly for your very own :)

Flying High For You

This little boy stamp, one of Patti's Kids stamps, can be found HERE.  It's listed as a Valentine's stamp but I think it would make a cute card for a little boy's birthday.  His clothes and shoes are paper pieced and the kite is a modification of iris folding and very easy to do.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
