Masculine Card

Masculine cards are hard for me.  After raising four girls, I tend to make everything buttons and bows.  NOT great on a card for a guy!!   I also buy lots of pastel, flowery papers which my grandson (he's ten) fails to appreciate the beauty of.  This card, however, I think could be enjoyed by most any male.  The "buttons" are actually metal brads and the "bow"  is made with twisted floss.  As for the papers--not a flower in sight (I bought it with the guys in mind). This Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N image is also most definately male. Voila!! I made a "guy" card!

Mmmm ice cream

Going to use some of the Patti's Kids images for a bit.  I sat down and colored a few one day and now am making them into cards.  I love the purple shades and have used some in this yummy card.  The ice cream reminds me of summer and the strawberry ice cream my husband makes.  The grandkids like it so much that they get it from the freezer when it's time to go and take it with them!!  You can find this and lots of other images in this line at Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N.  Check it out!  Just click on the Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N badge at the top right of this page and you will be there.

Two For One

Today you get two for one.  I used the same image and papers to do two similar but different cards.  I did this card first.  Then, using the leftover papers and an identical image I did this second card.
It really doesn't take much longer to do a second card when you already have the papers and other supplies out and at hand.  I usually stamp and color at least two of the same images at one time.  I throw the "extras" into a box.  Having a box of stamped, pre-colored images can come in handy.  I even let my friends use some of the images.  I LOVE to color and will sometimes stamp a bunch of images at one time and then just sit and color them. It's a great way to just relax and enjoy a few hours of "me" time.  I used one of the Patti's Kids images from Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N on these cards.  I stamped several of the Patti's  Kids images and colored them a few days ago.  They are one of my favorite S & S lines and I enjoy using them on my cards.

Wedding Card

It's all about weddings at our house lately.  We are in the midst of plans for our youngest daughter's wedding.  She's getting married in July at a ranch near Austin, Texas.  Such fun! I probably should have done this card with peach-colored accents, as that is her color along with a soft green.  The pink is easily changed to any color to go along with a color scheme.  The little bride Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N image is one that I really like.  I especially  appreciate the petite size that allows it to "fit" on top of the die cut  layers that are so popular in the stamping world right now.  Here is a close up.
I used two colors of white on the lacy die cuts to go along with the two white shades on my paper.  I have to admit, it was a mistake at first, but I decided I liked the idea of the two shades!
On my way to a Super Bowl get-together with my kids & grandkids, so I have to run.
Enjoy the rest of your day, and GO LIONS! (I can dream, can't I?)
