The End Bookmark

Hello!  It's Lisa again with a fun project for you.

The End Bookmark

I opted to try something different this week and created a bookmark.  I cut a strip of Core'dinations cardstock 2" x 8.5" and rounded the ends.  This was folded in half and lightly sanded to show the white core.  I stamped The End Chalkboard (X1712) and colored with watercolor pencils.  I carefully trimmed the image and popped up on a die-cut matte.  Super simple!  To keep the bookmark closed on my page, I used some Basic Grey magnets.

Do you like to create things other than cards?  I'd love to hear from you on your favorites.

Thanks!
Lisa

Vintage Tulips

Hello!  It's Lisa again with another Spring project!  Is it warming up where you live?  St. Louis is slowly getting warm... although Mother Nature has been plenty moody.  I think we have another cold snap on our doorstep.

Vintage Tulips

With lovely patterned paper taking center stage, it's easy to mass-produce sets of cards.  I stamped and embossed the Large Tulip (L1665) and colored with watercolor pencils.  If you keep the water to a minimum, you can use regular cardstock without the image warping.  And who doesn't love bright and cheerful tulips?

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for visiting,
Lisa

Peace on Earth

I used Clearsnap Chalk inks for today’s cards. I stamped the sleigh image and the cut it out with a Scallop Oval Nestabilities die. I used the tip of the snowflake (the same snowflake I used for the side border) to create the border on the scallop. I added some Polar White Flower for a little added texture.

Looking Towards Summer

If spring has sprung, then summer is just around the corner.  Some fun holidays coming up which present great opportunities for card making.
Here's a fun card to celebrate our country's birthday.  Lots of traditional red, white and blue, and the always popular stars.  This Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N image sparkles with glitter.  The star-embossed paper was done with a Cuttlebug folder.  God Bless America, now and always.

Red Rose

I've got a pretty rose card for you today:

I colored the image with Copic markers. I made the border with a strip of sticky tape (I used Scor-Tape) and notching one end and then laying it on my card. I sprinkled Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft onto the tape and rubbed it in a bit with my finger for good adhesion.
Here is a closer look:

Here comes Peter Cottontail. . .

. . . hopping down the bunny trail.  Hippity Hoppity, Easter's on its way. Yup, Easter is right around the corner.  I love sending cards to the grandkids, because they love getting mail--any mail!  It is a fun, unexpected surprise.  If you  like to remember some one with a card on Easter, here are some sweet little images that work up into an adorable card.
Using white pigment ink, I stamped onto vellum and embossed with white embossing powder.  Be sure to keep your heat gun moving so you don't burn the vellum or make it curl.  I actually have some thicker vellum that I got at Marco's Paper.  I found it doesn't warp as easily, but it is thicker, so it doesn't have quite as much transparency.  I colored the back of the vellum with alcohol markers to keep the softer look.   I also used the vellum to cut a  border with a long Sizzix die and then ran it through my Cuttlebug in a dotted embossing folder.  The papers I used are from Martha Stewart. Now hop on over to STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N and find some Easter stamps that you like!

Simple Spring

Hello!  It's Lisa with a super fast, clean and simple project to share with you today.

Simple Spring

This really is a fast card... one you could easily mass produce for a simple greeting to friends or family this Spring.  I stamped the image (In the Meadow - X1359) and embossed.  I colored with watercolor pencils for a soft and dreamy image.  You can do this on regular cardstock if you keep your excess water to a minimum,  You don't want your finished image to be warped and wonky (that's a really technical term, but I think you know what I mean).

Thanks for visiting,
lise

Happy Sunday

Continuing on a theme of Spring, here is another card featuring one of the Patti's Kids images.
I used some K and Company papers to make the card base for the image.  I cut a double border with a punch from EK Success.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the oval, and then ran it through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder. I pierced holes in the scallops.  Then I used a soft pink chalk ink Petal Point pad to color the oval.  I mounted the image on it and added tiny "pearls" on the corners and a sweet bow.
Have a great Sunday!

Spring Fairies

Hello!  It's Lisa again with a quick post this Wednesday!  I am really ready for warm weather and sunshine.  We've had so much snow and cold in St. Louis... it's just time for a thaw.  So, my card today is getting me in the mood for Spring weather!

Spring Fairies

I stamped and embossed the Black-Eyed Susan Fairies (J1321) and watercolored.  I really love the soft tones you can achieve with watercolor pencils.  The technique I use when coloring with this medium is to have a small, soft paintbrush and pick up color from the tip of the pencil - rather than coloring my paper and spreading with water.  I think you get a better blend and have more control.

I did take a bit of license with the color of my flower.  I don't think Mother Nature would mind, do you?

I hope you have a wonderful... and warm week!
Thanks for visiting,
lise
