Well, I missed posting last week because my computer was very sick. It would NOT power up no matter what I tried. We called the repairman and he had to order a part. Sooooo a week later he was able to finally get it going again. Whew! I had NO idea how tied I am to my computer until it isn't there!!!!
So anyway, I have been so busy doing red and green lately that I felt like doing something far removed from that. This is what I came up with--pastels, which I love. For some reason, whenever I do raincoats, the color yellow comes immediately to mind. This is one of the images from my beloved Patti's Kids line. I used a new coloring technique that I have gone bonkers over. You color in the image with your Copics, Trias, or whatever you use, and then the fun part. You do the shading with colored pencils. I have had a set of Prismacolor pencils for probably 15 years or more. I have not ever been a wiz at using them, although I have tried several times. A while back I saw this technique somewhere on the internet and filed it in my memory bank. I recently tried it and LOVE it. Use the colored pencil on the edge of the area you want shaded and then, take a tortillion (those little paper stub thingies), and touch it on a piece of felt that you have sprayed with GOO GONE. Use the stub to drag the color out onto the image to make your shading.
It works amazingly well. You need just a little dab of the GOO GONE and remember to rub the color off the tip before going to another color. I love trying new techniques, especially when they turn out well!
Have a great day and take some time to relax with your stamps.
