Season's Greetings

I was able to get a simple card done for the Going Grey with Scrap-creations challenge this week with a Christmas theme.  This past week I kept busy creating some samples for CHA, so if you are in Chicago, make sure to check out Stamp N Plus Scrap N in booth 1840 during the Tradeshow and hopefully you will see some of my creations around there.

This is a new stamp that is being released so I don't have a link to it just now.  I colored it with my Copic markers and stamped my sentiment.  The image was paired with some of my Green at Heart Basic Grey papers.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday and hope you will come back next week to see what I created!

Birthday Cards

Hello!  It's Lisa with my Wednesday post and a birthday card that I hope inspires.

Happy Birthday

The front of the card was cut out using a Nestability die to form a window.  I added October Afternoon Thrift Shop patterned paper to the inside of the card to shine through the window.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on vellum and added to the front of the card.

I stamped and colored the large tulip with Copic markers.  It's the perfect stamped embellishment to the front of my window card.

I'd love to hear from you... have you ever made a window card?

Thanks,
lise

Previewing at CHA

This week Stamp'N Plys Scrap'N will be at CHA in Chicago and this is one of the NEW Patti's Kids stamps that she will be introducing there.  There are several new additions to this popular line of stamps, including several for the Christmas holidays.  Remember, it is never to early to start those Christmas cards.  What a special treat for your family and friends to get a handmade card instead of something out of the box or off the rack.  These new stamps will be on the store web site soon, so be sure to keep checking!

For today's card, I used the Peter Pup stamp PP016 .

Christmas in July

Along with some of the other girls, I decided to go with a Christmas in July theme.  I love this cute little stamp, Christmas Nighttime Children.  I decided to go with an off the wall Holiday color combination from some paper from SEI (Oasis papers).  The colors just seemed to work so well with these two sweet children.

I embossed the image with EP-106 Copper Embossing Powder and then colored them in with my Copics.  I simply layered it on some of the SEI papers and tied a little bow.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday and see you next week where I'll be sharing some cards with new images!

"Bee"ing Wonderful

Yes... you are!  Hi again!  It's Lisa for my Wednesday post.  This summer is just marching along, isn't it?  Time sure flies when you're having fun!

"Bee"ing Wonderful

This card really couldn't be more simple.  I stamped the sentiment on a die-cut circle.  Then, on a scrap of cardstock, I stamped the little bee, colored and cut out.  The wings have a bit of glossy accents and the bumble bee is popped up on dimensional tape.  It's a simple card that lets the sentiment shine.  This will be perfect added to my stash of thank you's.

I'd love to hear how your week is going.  If you ever have any questions, feel free to post a comment... I always check them.

Thanks for visiting... and for "bee"ing so wonderful!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY 3

One year I changed all my Christmas decorations and went with a purple and sage theme. Purple being my favorite color, I loved it. I used it for, I guess, three years.   My youngest daughter hated it!  She was happy as a clam to help pack it all up and donate it to the women's shelter store. Katie claims that Christmas is RED and GREEN.  She probably would not like the black and red on this card (well, the red would be okay) but I think it is a great change of pace.  This very versatile poinsettia image can be found here
POINSETTIA.  You can stamp it a couple times and layer one over the other to give lots of dimension to your card.  I put pop dots under it to adhere it to my card.  Don't forget to add some bling--it's Christmas after all.  Sundays are a great day to craft, by the way!

How about an Ostrich Ride?

Every time I see the Fantasy Ostrich Ride image I think of the great big carousel ride at our mall with lot of different animals to ride.  They have an ostrich there and I'm pretty sure I've accompanied one of my children on the ride at one time or another.

I've been stumped as to how to color the ostrich and this time simplicity was the route I took.  I used the spotlighting technique for this card.  I chose some Regal Rose cardstock to make this image POP against the Donna Salazar paper I picked out.

I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for this card along with some Mini Me Prima flowers and Hero Art gemstones.  I used an Aquapainter and ink to color the image.
Hope you enjoy my card for you today!

Kim

Ruff Ride

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!  It's Lisa again with a fun card to share with you.

Ruff Ride

I had a ball coloring this Peter Pup image.  I used copic markers to shade the images and added a few blasts from my airbrush to give my sky some interest.

I also added a bit of glossy accents around the angry fish to give my water a bit of shine and a few spots of white gel pen for highlights.  Just a couple of fun little details!

When I get really stressed, I love to color.  This fun little guy helped me with a rough day.  I'd love to know what you like to when you're having a stressful day... read a book?  stamp?  bubble bath?

I hope your week isn't as 'ruff' as this little guy!
Thanks for visiting,
lisa

CHRISTMAS IN JULY 2

One of the things I like best about holiday cards is using shiny papers, bling and glitter.  I got to do it all on this simple card.  I stamped the image and colored it in with alcohol markers and then used crystal Stickles to fill in the bands along the bottom of the bells.    The ovals are cut with Nestabilities dies.  I used an EK Success punch  to round the corners on the card and the green cardstock layer.
don't you just LOVE Christmas!?
These bells can be found right here Christmas Bells.

Just Beecuzz!

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!  It's Lisa again.  Because I love you, I have a quick card.

Just Beecuzz!

I think the Honey Bee stamp set is my FAVORITE set!  I'm using it all the time.  OK.  So maybe I won't because you might get a tidge sick of seeing Honey Bee for every card I make.  But it's just so fun.

This card was a super fast layout, using more Willow Bee paper by Nikki Sivils.  I stamped the extra bee (on the right side) and popped it up with dimensional tape.  Both of the bees have Glossy Accents on the wings too.

I'd love to hear about your favorite stamp set at Stamp N Plus... or even what your vacation plans are this year.

Thanks for visiting,
lise

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hi!  Bet you expected to come here and find it all red white and blue.  Hope you aren't too disappointed. I decided for this month's posts I would celebrate "Christmas In July."  I always say I am going to start my Christmas cards early, and then when the holidays roll around I am rushing to get them made and in the mail so they arrive before December 25!!!   I have a feeling I'm not the only one who does this.  So anyway, forget for a second that this is Fourth of July  and pretend it is a crisp winter day. This image is called "Carolers" and you can find it  here.  The sentiment stamp can be found here.  This is called a step card.  I started with white cardstock and covered it with some holiday paper. I punched out the snowflakes with some really really old punches that I have had forever (that means I do not remember what company they came from and they are not marked but everyone sells snowflake punches and any would work!).  This is the first time I tried to make a step card and I think it turned out okay.  I will probably make some of these for my aunts and uncles because I usually try to make their cards a little special.

Enjoy your holiday.  If all goes according to plan, I should be in Michigan right now at my brother's annual Fourth of July blowout.  It is a big family tradition and we fly up from Texas whenever we are able to attend.  LOTS of yummy food and drink.  It starts out with a golfing contest in the morning and the winning team gets to put their names on a popscicle stick and put it in the family golf loving cup.  I think they also get custody of the trophy for a year.  Then is the picnic at my brother's pool and yard games.  In the evening we go to another brother's house out in the country and illegally shoot off fireworks over his pond with his neighbors and eat popcorn.  I know, goofy family, right?  Hope your day is as nice as it can be!
