My Honey Bee

Hello again!  Happy Wednesday!  It's Lisa again with a card for you.

My Honey Bee

OK.. I have to admit... I really love this Honey Bee stamp set.  Don't be surprised if I use this a few million more times for my Wednesday posts.  It's super cute and as you can see from the project, it's easy to make a fast and simple card.

I've die-cut some clouds and popped them (with the stamped sentiment) up on the card front.  Super simple stuff, I tell ya!  And isn't that paper just a perfect match with the stamp set?

I'd love to hear what your favorite Stamp N Plus Scrap N stamp set is.  Have you browsed lately?

Thanks for visiting!

The Letter

Hmmmm I can't help but wonder what this letter holds for this lovely lady. Romance?  Mystery?  She looks like she is contemplating.  Maybe an invitation to something just a bit risque?   We can only imagine.
The image is called "Letters" and is available with all its mystery here LETTERS.   I used this nostalgic lady with some K and Company designer paper that I thought fit well with the time period she could be from.  The card was super quick and easy.  The image is layered over a Spellbinders medallion (I think that's what they call them).  The border is from Martha Stewart.

Garden Gal

Hello... Happy Saturday to you... Kathy here today. Today I want to show you a cute Patti's Kid card made with a Patti's Kid Iris Fold stamp. The stamp is called Garden Gal Iris stamp Q-IR115. This image is colored in with Copics, Prismacolor Markers, Bics mark-its, and SU markers. I added some shimmers to the hearts and on the flower on her hat.
You can find this stamp on the Iris folding section of the Stamp N Plus Scrap N store.

Have a great day! See you next Saturday! Kathy Hering...

Sunny Day with some Chicks

Hope you made it over the hump this week and are gearing up for the weekend!  I've spent the past week in New York where I have experienced baseball, lots of pizza and even an earthquake!  I am ready to be back home though and see my 2 little ones!

I created this card using the Three Chicks stamps.  It was very simple, just adding a little color to the chicks with my copic markers.   I added a few embellishments to finish it off but left it blank for one of those all occasion cards.  Hope you enjoy!!!

Baby Carriage and a Sketch

Hello! It's Lisa again with a quick post and a "hello" for you.  I hope you're week is going well so far!  Stamp N Plus Scrap N is the sponsor this week at Card Positioning Systems.  If you create with the sketch of the week, you have a chance to win a Stamp N Plus Scrap N prize pack... and who doesn't like prizes?

Hi Baby

This is the card I created with the CPS sketch.  The sketch is really so versatile, one you can use with small to medium images.  And I just ADORE all the little vintage images that Stamp N Plus Scrap N have on their site. I thought this sweet little baby carriage would be perfect with the vintage feel of the Cappella Basic Grey papers.

I'd love to hear if you like to create with a sketch in mind or like to work fluidly.  Or... if you'd like to share about your day, I'd love to hear that too!

Thanks for visiting!

Woman With Veil

This amazing image is one of several in the Heritage Collection.  They are by artist Dexter Griffin and each one is gorgeous.  This one can be found  hereHERITAGE COLLECTION along with  several pages of others.  I made a square card and covered it with K and Company designer paper.  I added a bit of bling to the punched butterflies before adhereing them to the punched circles.  I used a paper piercer to make the double row of "dots" below the image.  The solid paper is from The Paper Studio.  The image was colored with alcohol markers and the cheeks "blushed' with chalk.

Father's Day

Hello!  It's Lisa today... and I have a post dedicated to Dads.  Are you set for this weekend?  We love to get together and celebrate with the family by having a big BBQ... nothing like it on a hot summer day!

Happy Father's Day

So, I did a little something different with this card that I hope inspires you to try on your own.  I decided to stamp the Light House (J2160) image on watercolor paper with Walnut Stain Distress ink, embossing it with clear embossing powder.  What you might not be able to tell from the picture is that I used Copic markers to color.  Normally, I wouldn't recommend a Copic marker to be used on watercolor paper because you'll drain your marker.  The paper is designed to be absorbent.  What I did was scribble my markers on a piece of plastic (like a palette) and use a water brush filled with Copic blending solution to "paint" the color around the image.  I did color some directly on the paper (just a few quick passes), but softened it all with the blending solution.

Note: Once you fill your water brush with Copic solution, be sure to label it.  If capped, the solution will keep in the brush until your next project.

I hope you have a great week.  And I'd love to know how you celebrate the Father's Day weekend!
Thanks for visiting,

Lisa

You are my Sunshine

Hope you all had a good weekend! I didn't get much card making done, but had a lot of fun basking in the sun like a pup! I am a little burned, but that's okay......it's nice to have some colour. My friends always tease me that I go from Transparent to White each summer!

I wanted to make a summer themed card and this little image Dog Splat with Butterfly was perfect for that! I coloured the images with Copics and used some Debbie Mumm Noah's Ark paper to tie in with the colours that I used in the image. I used Prism Pencils and Gamsol for the grass as I find I get a nicer blend..........hmmmm I think i've said that before! Two Martha Stewart Border punches adds a little interest to the layers.

The sentiment is also available at Stamp N Plus Scrap N

I've decided to take a little tenure this summer and just to let you know, next week will be my last post on the blog. I hope you've enjoyed my samples and wanted to thank you for stopping by!

Happy Stamping!

Get Well

Hi! Jeanne here today playing with Buzz N Magic chalks and paint.

I used Buzz N Magic loose chalks and Buzz N Magic paint to create my background. I dabbed my sponge into the paint and then into the chalk and kept repeating with blue and white chalk until I got this cool mottled sky looking background.

Cory With Candy

Here's a colorful card for a happy occasion.  Of course you know I LOVE dots!
I started by covering a white card with some lime textured cardstock.  I used the same lime cardstock to layer all the various papers that I added to the card.  This is a simple layout tthat is easy to do.  The decorative corner is from Sizzix.  You can find this Patti's Kids stamp HERE.
I like to use chalk to do the cheeks on my people, as it gives a softer look.  You can find some great chalk in lots of colors at Powdered Chalk.

Happy Father's Day!

With Father's Day being just around the corner, I thought this would be an appropriate card to share.  I love this image and the big star that is open for you to stamp any type of sentiment in.  I used some paper that I received in which the cardstock was sewn-love that sewing pattern that was used.

I kept the card pretty simple just mounting my image with some dimensionals on a circle punch & scallop circle.  I added what I hope look like "masculine" embellishments with the buttons/twine.

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: buttons, twine

Winter Village

Hello!  It's Lisa again and I'm still creating holiday cards.  I'm sneaking up on the 80+ cards I send each season.  At this rate, I might be finished in time for Christmas of 2011.  Yikes!

Winter Village

I think I'd love to live in a little town like this, wouldn't you?  It's so picturesque.  I colored the Winter Village (F2289) with Copic markers and added White Enamel accents on the snow again.  It gives a white glossy appearance and is just lovely for winter snow.  It's a simple card, but I know I'll be tucking this away in my stash to send at the end of the year (when it's finally time for snow!).

Quick Tip:
When mass-producing holiday cards or invitations, keep the embellishments and bulky layers to a minimum so you won't have to add extra postage to send each card.
So, do you send dozens of holiday cards or just a few special ones?  I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for visiting!

Dreaming of Lighthouses

I dream of visiting lighthouses like this.  Just seems to be something so historical about lighthouse and whenever I see them or pictures of them, I envision myself sitting near the water just calmly taking it all in.

I stamped Lighthouse with Clear Embossing Powder and inked some Sahara Sand over it.  I kept this card very simple layering it on some patterned paper and a simple "Thanks" sentiment.

Hope you all are having a great week, I'll be headed back home today after being in Dallas for a few days for work.  Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight!

Stamps: Lighthouse and Sentiment from Stamp N Plus Scrap N
Cardstock: Ocean Tides, Confetti Cream, Kraft, patterned paper from scrap stash

Snowmen in June?

Hello!  It's Lisa with another Wednesday post.  I try to start making holiday cards in June.  If I don't start early, I never finish!  I have a card to share with you this week that was fun to color.

O Holy Night

Isn't this snowman sweet?  I just loved the expression on this little guy.  I colored this with Copic markers in some fun non-traditional colors and added a bit of glitter on the scarf.  A few blasts from the airbrush give the sky a cloudy appearance.

The fun little extra something on this card is the addition of Enamel Accents (both white and black).  Now, all the snowflakes and snow is glistening white and the eyes and buttons of coal are inky black.  It's perfect!

Thanks for visiting!  I'd love to hear about your holiday cardmaking.  Do you start early too?
