I hope that all my American friends enjoyed a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend! Now back to the grind eh??? I enjoyed a warm and wonderful weekend on the lake and didn't feel much like getting back into the swing of things yesterday!

Today I wanted to share another Black and White Creation. This Zebra stamp is one of many awesome realistic wildlife stamps available in LuAnns Store. Follow the link to the store and look up Wildlife. Along with African Animals, she has some wonderful North American Animals as well!

Happy Stamping!

Vicki

Season's Greetings

Hello! Jeanne here today with a sparkly Christmas card!

I used a ATG gun to apply the copper glitter on the border. If you put a piece of scrap paper over the top (after you shake off the excess) and rub it into the tape runner glue it sets it nicely so you won’t have much “glitter shedding”.

Copic markers used:

Stamps: J1902 Holly Wreath, Season’s Greetings - Stamp N Plus Scrap N
Paper: Bazzill Simply Smooth White, SU! Confetti White
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Ranger Distress
Copic markers and Multiliner, Copper Glitter, Scrapbook Adhesives from 3L, ribbon from Offray

Snips and Snails

Last week I did a "Sugar and Spice" post, so I thought it only fitting that this week I do a "Snips and Snails" one.  I hear a lot of stampers complain that it is so much harder to make a masculine card because there aren't as many images.  Well, the Patti's Kids
line, available at Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N, has some really neat boy images like the one I used on this card.  They are fresh and happy, without being too 'babyish" for older boys.

I started with a white A6 card (61/4" x 4 1/2") and covered the front with a shade of orange cardstock ( I think I used some from Bazzil).  I then selected two coordinating designer cardstocks from My Mind's Eye that would go well with a boy themed card.  I cut the first to about 6" x 4 1/4" and adhered it to the front of the card, leaving a small border of the orange.  I have to tell you here, when I first started stamping waaaaay back in the early 90's, I couldn't bear to "waste" a whole piece of paper just so a tiny border of it showed on a card.  It literally took me YEARS to get over that.  I have learned through doing, and now see what a difference that teeny tiny border can make.   Anyway, back to the card.   I took some of the solid orange and cut two strips 1 1/4" wide and about 4" long. I rounded the corners on one end only.  Using the second piece of designer cardstock, I cut two strips approximately 1" wide and 3 3/4" long and layered it on the orange strips, after also rounding one end of each.  You will see that it has left a small border of the orange all the way around.  Then I just "eyeballed" it to the front of my card, gluing it in place.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black in and colored it in with alcohol markers, and used chalk to blush the cheeks.  I used a Nestability deckled die to cut out the image. I layered it on some of the orange, leaving again, a small border.  I adhered it to the card with pop dots.  Then, using some  EK Success punches, I punched out a  1 1/2" circle from designer cardstock and a 1 3/8" circle from the orange.  I glued them together and stamped a sentiment from the   Notables set in the middle.  I used a pop dot to adhere it to my card.  I added two buttons (JoAnns) to finish off the card.

Andy with a Jar can be found here
Notables Stamp Set  can be found here  (hint:  the unmounted set has like a dozen sentiments and is super affordable!)

Hope you have a relaxing and creative Sunday!

Happy Birthday

Hello everyone, Kathy Here on this wonderful sunny Saturday! The last few weeks I have been showcasing Christmas cards. This week I changed it up a bit with a Birthday card. I made this for my dad, who had his birthday last Sunday. The picture is a little fuzzy and the card has been given away already so let that be a lesson to me! This card is made with the cute J-GRL38 Bear stamp and a Stamp N Plus Scrap N Happy Birthday sentiment. The bear is colored in with Copic markers. Paper is Martha Stewart Baby Boy paper pad. The balloon is paper pieced and popped up with dimensionals.

See you next week...

Can't stand to "BEAR" how "SWEET" this card is.....LOL

This cutie bear image is from the SPOOL PALS stamp set. I stamped it on DSP using chocolate chip ink. Cut it out and layered it onto a circle of brown DSP and then a scalloped blue DSP circle. Using a MS border punch for the faux ribbon and layered it on more blue DSP. It was easy as to make as it was for Goldilocks to break baby bear chair. This would make a cute card for your next baby shower..... speaking of I have two coming up very quickly for two great-great nephews on the way. Yep, you saw two 'greats' typed....LOL I have two different great nieces that are both expecting boys this year.
Until later, Goldilockettes.......Gotta split.......TFL!!!!

Lillies of the Valley

It's been a few week since I have been able to participate in the Play Date Cafe Challenge but this week I couldn't pass up this color combination. Playdate Cafe Challenge #30 (pink, pale yellow, light green)

I knew exactly what image I wanted to use and I know that Lillies of the Valley normally aren't pink but I think they do look beautiful colored that way.  I used the Card Positioning Systems #167 sketch which was sponsored by Stamp N Plus Scrap N .  Guess I'm a day late and dollar short on this as the challenge ended but I still love the card!

This card really only took me about 15 minutes to complete and I didn't throw too many accessories on it as I really wanted the image to be the focal point.

Card details:
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Lemon Tart, Stamper's Select White
Inks: Dish All the Dirt Brown, Copic markers
Accessories: Hibiscus Burst buttons, cream twine, 1 3/4" circle punch, glue dots

Memories

Hello again!  It's Lisa with a quick post.  The school year is almost over... only a week left for my crew.  It's always a frantic pace to finish projects, complete assignments and start bringing personal things home.  I thought this project would be timely.

Memories

If the library card envelope doesn't propel you to your days in school, the little girl with her chalkboard might.  Isn't she darling?

I stamped The End Chalkboard image with Walnut Stain Distress ink and embossed.  I colored with Copic markers and carefully trimmed.  I thought all the vintage colors and papers would be a perfect fit for our hardworking student.

And the library envelope would be a perfect little place to tuck a gift card or a few dollars for one of my hardworking students.

Thanks for visiting!  I'd love to hear about some of your favorite school memories.
Lisa

Fun With Hearts

Hi! Jeanne here today!

Here’s a easy card using a sponge and ink to color some patterned hearts. This heart image was intended for Iris Folding, but I thought the pattern would lend itself well to shading with ink.

Sugar and Spice

This image from  Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N should be in the dictionary under "sweet."
It could be used on so many different types of cards--get well, missing you, happy birthday, I love you. . . .

You will start with a 6 1/4" by 4 1/2" (A-6) card.  I covered a white card with textured green cardstock from The Paper Company.  Then I cut a strip of the same cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug, using one of their border embossing folders. After adding  faux stitch marks with a brown pen, and distressing it with brlwn chalk,  I adhered it to the left side of the card, leaving a small border all around.  Then I took two pieces of coordinating decorative paper (I used K and Company) and cut them to fit the remaining area on my card, leaving a border of the green all around.
I again used a brown marker to make faux stitching lines, and brown chalk to distress the edges of the papers.  Then I adhered them to the front of the card.  I then cut a rectangle from another piece of coordinating paper and distressed it in the same way, and adhered it to my card, overlapping the others as shown.  I cut a length of pink dotted ribbon (Michaels) and glued it to the card.  Using a Sizzix die, I cut out two flowers and adhered them to the card with thin pop dots, then added buttons to the centers.  I stamped the image of white cardstock and colored it with alcohol markers, using chalk to blush the cheeks.  I used an oval Nestability to cut out my image.  I added it the card, sliding it under the flowers just a bit.  An added bow and it was done!

The image is called "My Kitty" and can be found here
Have a great Sunday!

I used an enbossing folder for the hearts, I stamped the image with Cameo coral ink, punched the heart border using a punch from SU!, I then cut a strip of white cardstock and distressed, crumpled and then pleated it and sewed it to the card. Added a prima with a giggle dot and wa lllaaaaa!!! The stamp is from the Feelin' Groovy set you can get HERE...!!!!
I have been sooooo busy lately.....teachers gifts, field days, graduations, baby showers, etc....... didnt think I was going to be able make a card for tonight, barely keeping my head above water . But I guess one more glass of water tossed into the ocean isnt gonna make that much difference......Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! But I truly "Love" every minute of it!!!!

Fantasy Ostrich Ride

When I was looking at the Stamp N Plus Scrap N catalog, there were so many fabulous images to choose from and I wanted to try some different stamps.  I chose this Ostrich Ride stamp, not really knowing what I would do with it.  It would make a great little kids card, but I decided to make a Thank You card with it instead.

I used the Critter Sketch Challenge from this week as this image was the perfect size for it.  I also made one of the cute rolled flowers which are fun & easy!  I stamped my sentiment originally in white ink but it was so light I decided to shadow it with a gray.

Hope you have had a wonderful week!

Groovy!

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!  It's Lisa again with a quick hello and a card for you.  This week, Stamp N Plus Scrap N is sponsoring the Card Positioning System's team.

My card this week uses the CPS sketch and a SUPER fun Stamp N Plus stamp set called Feelin Groovy.

Feel'n Groovy
Yep... it's BRIGHT!  Really bright.  But the image just seemed to call for some groovy colors.  I colored the bug with copic markers and added a bit of Glossy Accents to the windows.  Overall, it's a simple card.

Quick Tip: Look to your cardstock scraps to make a custom paper.  It's a great way to use all those little bits and pieces we hesitate to throw out.
If you join the CPS crew on the sketch, you have a chance to win a prize package from Stamp N Plus Scrap N.  Always a great thing!

Thanks for stopping by,
lise

Nice and Easy!

Sometimes you just want to get a card done in a pinch! Although I enjoy playing with layers, textures and embellishments, sometimes I feel like less can be more. So I had just coloured up this image on a half sheet of cardstock and realized it was pretty much centred. Rather than cutting it out, I decided to cut the paper down to 4.25 inches and fold it! This gave me a one layer card. Since the image was closer to the bottom than the top, I added a little ribbon to balance it out a little more.

This image, Doctor Cat is from the Patti's Kids Collection! The sentiment is also available at Stamp N Plus Scrap N

Happy Stamping !

Think Pink Christmas

Hello! Jeanne here with another Christmas project!

I used Clearsnap Chalk inks for today’s cards. I stamped the sleigh image and the cut it out with a Scallop Oval Nestabilities die. I used the tip of the snowflake (the same snowflake I used for the side border) to create the border on the scallop. I added some Polar White Flower for a little added texture.

One Stamp

This card only took one little floral stamp and look at all the color!  It is super easy to do too!

Cover the front of your card with green cardstock.  You actually could use any color to coordinate with your stamping, but I chose the green because it went with the leaves.
Now stamp two pieces of white cardstock with the floral image in an all over design.  Color in the images.  Cut the first piece about a quarter of an inch smaller than your card so that you have a small border all around.  Next you will cut out another piece of the green cardstock, cutting it a little smaller so that a border of the floral  is showing.  You will now cut the second piece of your stamped cardstock and mount it on the green, leaving a floral border.  Your borders can be as big or as small as you like--they don't have to look just like this card; do whatever suits your taste.  I left my second green border larger than my first, but you don't have to do that.  Now stamp and color just one image and cut it out.  You will mount this on a green rectangle, using a pop dot and leaving room for a bow on one side.  Adhere to your card and then add a small bow.  Now adhere three mini buttons and voila!  Easy as pie!

Snow? Could be!

Hello everyone, Kathy Here!

Last weekend we had snow falling but this weekend seems to be nice and sunny so far. So talking about snow, here is a cute Holiday card I made with an Iris Folding stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N: Iris Boy and Snowball stamp. It's a very fun project and not very hard to do at all. You stamp out the image, the image has the iris folding on it already and then you cut out the iris folding section with a cutting tool. Tape it to the image and start layering the pieces of paper on.Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp N Plus Scrap N F-IR093 Iris Boy and Snowball Stamp
Paper: red, white, computer paper
Ink: Black
Accessories: Swiss Dots Emboss folder, snow paper punch, SU Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, SU two-way glue, markers, craft knife

Have a great weekend, see you next Saturday!

The earlier the better.....

I know this one is way early, but with Mother's Day just behind us... I was thinking about Father's Day... I couldn't find this particular stamp on the website. But I'm sure if you and leave a comment and ask LuAnn (company owner) she can surely guide you in the right direction. I wanted to keep this simple as to not distract from the wonderful, meaningful poem. And what "real" man wants buttons, bows and lace on a card they receive....oh well, one outta three ain't bad. Bwahahahahahaha!!!
Card deets: I used Versamark and then embossed the poem with bronze embossing powder. I then, used chocolate chip ink to distress the edges a bit. Added some DSP and used a border punch from SU!
Bwa I just know that my hubs is really going to love this card.
Until later, my pretty button and bows........Gotta split.......TFL!!!

How Do You Do?

Hello!  It's Lisa with a quick project for you.  I hope your week is going well.

Howdy

This was super simple... but I just grin when I see this little guy, don't you?  He's such a gentleman!

I stamped the How Do You Do? (X1734) image with Walnut Stain Distress ink and embossed.  I colored with Copic markers.  I think the colors and textures are homespun simple... but just right.

Thanks for visiting!  I'd love to hear what you've been doing this week.

Tea anyone?

I LOVE this whimsical Teapot image! I just received some Magnolia DP today and thought it would be just perfect to use as a paper piecing pattern for this Watering Can that can be found under Patti's Kids

To add extra dimension, I stamped the upper flower in white, coloured it with Copics, cut it out and mounted it on foam tape. I used some sweet flowers that I just purchased from the UK on the pot and along the Martha Stewart Lattice Jumbo Punch!!!

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and that it's sunny enough to garden!!!!

Rock a Bye Baby

I have always loved making baby cards.  My best friends will tell you that I LOVE baby stamps and have tons of them.  I don't know, they are just so sweet!!  I also love the pretty pastel colors associated with babies.  I decided to do this one in pastel purples (purple being my favorite color).  I also had this sheer dotted ribbon that went well with the theme (dots being another favorite of mine).

This precious image from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N was easy to color (I chalked the cheeks).  The paper is K and Company and the tiny little heart border is a punch from Martha Stewart.  This was a really simple card to make.  The circles are Nestabilities dies. I covered a 6" by 6" card with the purple gingham and then cut the turtle and duck borders from another sheet included in the paper pad.  I attatched the baby image with pop dots.

I do...........with a TWIST

Ahhhhh....spring. Everything and everyone is twitterpated and ready to get hitched. {Insert sweet flute music} Oh, what a beautiful bride she is. So sweet, and lovely!!! Not a care in the world except for being with the one she loves.

{Insert angry bass drum...da da da daaaaaa} Oh boy, Mom has way more worries and can't wait until this wedding stuff is all over with. (NOTE: This is the inside of the card)
Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! {Insert favorite mother-in-law joke here}!!!!!

Did ya see the "twist", its an optical illusion stamp. Just flip the design over and you get two images for the price of one. This stamp isn't available on the site yet, but it will be very soon... think of all the funny cards that this one could be used for. Any before and after ones are prime!!!!
Check back often and it will be on the site for sale before you know it..... in the mean time leave a comment here to let us know many are interested in purchasing it.
Card deets: I colored the image using color pencils, OMS, and blended with a stump. Added a little glitter to her crown, and used a MS punch for the border and fini.......

Until later, wedding party........Gotta split........TFL!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Can't believe it's almost the 2nd week of May already!!!  Is this year flying by or what????

Today I'm showcasing a simple Mother's Day card which I created using the Rose Corner from Stamp N Plus Scrap N.  I simply stamped this image twice on my white 5.5 x 5.5" square base and colored in with various copic markers.

I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock and cut it out with my circle nestabilities. I sponged around the edges and mounted it onto a rose colored cardstock so that it would POP a little against the white background. To finish off the card, I just added a few jewels.

Hope you enjoyed this Mother's Day card and that you also will have a wonderful Mother's Day this weekend!

All set for Mother's Day?

Hello again!  It's Lisa with a quick post.  With Mother's Day (US) coming up this weekend, I thought I'd give you a bit of inspiration.  If I've given you a heart attack because you're not quite ready... well... it's a good thing that it's only Wednesday!  Hah!

Happy Mother's Day

My card couldn't be more simple.  It's all about the image here.  I stamped the Chickadee s (F2074) image with Walnut Stain Distress ink and embossed.  I colored with various Copic markers that coordinated with the Origins Basic Grey patterned paper.  It couldn't be more simple.

I hope you have a lovely week and enjoy all the women in your life that are special...

Thanks for visiting!  I'd love to hear if you've all set for the weekend.  I'm not!  Yikes!

This week, I'm featuring a Beautiful Wolf Image from Stamp N Plus Scrap N........... I like the face that this is a solid stamp and there is no colouring involved.

In order to creat the shaded and scalloped circle around the wolf, I used a Nestabilitie to create a mask and sponged in some soft grey ink. I then made the circular dots with a Sakura Glaze Pen and added some stickles for effect! Easy Peasy. The sentiment is also from the store!

I LOVE making quick cards!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi there! Jeanne here with another Stamp N Plus Scrap N project. I stamped this pretty butterfly with distress inks and then cut it out and attached it to the card with foam tape to add some dimension.

Here's my card:

Stamps: J-838 Med Giant Swallowtail Butterfly, Happy Mother’s Day - Stamp N Plus Scrap N
Paper: Bazzill, Basic Grey
Ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Ranger Distress Chipped Sapphire, Victorian Velvet, Brushed Corduroy
Accessories: sponge, Nestabilities (Spellbinders), White Organdy ribbon (Offray), Scrapbook Adhesives from 3L
