Say ahhhhhhhhhhhh......

All I could think to make today was a get well card. My daughter had a root canal done yesterday, but she was a real trooper. She didn't even want me back there for moral support. This was a very simple layout as I have been SOOPER busy this week. Monday trip to airport to drop off hubby, Tuesday, pricing a mural for an outdoor stage in nearby town, Wednesday, grocery shopping and supplies to make 6o treat bags for my daughters 5th grade luncheon today. Thursday at dentist office.... now Gotta pack up my scrappin' stuff for National Scrapbooking Day at my niece's house saturday. Wheewwww......I may need a get well card after this week myself.....bwahahahahahahaha.
Ok now to the real reason you are here:
Peter pup is a real cutie isn't he....even when he's under the weather. You can get him and his other alias' HERE.
I used some scrap DSP with a MS border punch, a little scrap of white paper. Nestabilities, letter stamps and chocolate chip ink and waaaaa laaaaaa!!!!
Until later, Peter Pup Pals..........Gotta split..............TFL

For My Dear Friend

I hope your week is flying by!!  Just think tomorrow is FRIDAY!  I know I usually can not wait until Friday although Friday's usually are the busiest day for me at work.  Anyway, being that it's still only Thursday, I thought I would share a cute friend image from Stamp N Plus Scrap N called Rhythmic at Fence which is one of Patti's Kids creations.

This image is a lot of fun to color, a lot of open space and it would make a great card for a friend (or friends).  I made it quite feminine with lots of pinks and light blues.

Hope you are enjoying our blog here and seeing some of the different stamps that Stamp N Plus Stamp N has to offer.

Card details:
Stamps: Rhythmic at Fence J2562 and Sentiment from Stamp N Plus Scrap N
Cardstock: Rose Red, Pretty Please Paper Kit from My Mind's Eye, Stamper's Select White
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers
Accessories: die cut from MME kit, red brad

In the Meadow

Hello again!  It's Lisa with a little rhapsody about Spring!  I'm so glad that warmer weather is finally here.  I'm not a fan of being cold.  This card is all about warm days...

In the Meadow

So, one of the things that I love to do is add sewn elements to my cards.  This project has sewing... but I kicked it up another notch by using fabric as my main matte.  I found this cotton fabric at JoAnn's and I couldn't resist.  I trimmed a piece and adhered to cardstock.  Using my Tonic trimmer, I was able to get sharp, clean edges to the matte.  I sewed the fabric to the cardstock to ensure it's firmly in place.  So simple!  And it expands your pattern possibilities to endless options!

I stamped the In the Meadow (X1359) image on white cardstock with Walnut Stain Distress ink and embossed.  I colored the image using Copic markers that matched my fabric colors.

I'd love to hear if you use fabric in your stamping projects... or how the weather has been where you are.

Thanks for visiting!
Lisa

Flyin' High~

Look at these two little culprits~! Aren't they fun? Just catching a balloon ride on a nice spring day! You can find this stamp HERE on the Stamp N Plus website! This is the large image!

I kept the card fairly simple, using Copic Markers to colour. In order to create the clouds, I punched a scalloped circle and then rubbed in Truely Chalk that I picked up on a sponge.

Some white gel pen adds accents to the Kitty Fur, the Cheeks and a little glitter to the Balloon adds to the Pizzazz! Shades of Pink Cardstock. Buttons and accessories are misc.

Happy Stamping

Heritage Collection

Happy Sunday everyone!
Sundays are a GREAT day to sit down with a pile of stamps and some pretty papers and embellishments and just relax.  No guilt about housework or cooking (we always eat out after church).  Just put on something comfy, get your favorite beverage and turn on some music or a great TV show and relax.  Sometimes the grand kids are over and they  love to do crafts too--or "craps" as three year old Jasmine calls it.  I have given them stamps and stamp pads and papers but I guess it is just more fun at Grandma's.

Today I am introducing you to a beautiful line of stamps called the Heritage Collection. You can find them  here.   They are from artist Dexter Griffin and are absolutely beautiful.  They are fun to color and make up into wonderful cards. This image is called "Mother Love" and is one of my favorites.  I first covered my card with dark purple textured cardstock, then layered it with a piece of DCWV designer paper.  I then took a piece of coordinating designer paper and used an Ek Success punch to make a short border. I used a very small strip of the dark purple and glued it across the top of this piece for definition. The image was stamped on white and the corners were cut with a corner rounder.  It was then layered onto a  piece of green and the corners were rounded on that piece too.  A length of ribbon was wrapped around the image and it was adhered to the card with pop dots.  A bow was then added.   I punched two circles out of the dark purple cardstock and glued buttons to them.  I then adhered them to the card.

Supplies:
Mother's Love image from Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N
Designer Paper--Die Cuts With a View
Paper Punch--EK Success
Corner Rounder--Marvy
Ink--Memento Tuxedo Black
Markers--Letraset Tria and Copic
Buttons--JoAnns

Enjoy your day!

{punched ya} "Pink one" !!!

Don't ya love those new VW commercials.....we used to punch each other till we were black and blue and yell "punch bug" when we were kids while on any road trip, short or long it didn't matter. This image is a cutie patootie. Its a stamp set that is available to purchase from the online shop HERE. I used the paper piecing teckie to get the base color and then used my color pencils, OMS, and stump to add a little shading. Using the same paper I used the peace sign from the set and clear embossed for a cute background paper. I paper punched circles for the wheels and then added a little purple bling!!! What self-respecting "punch bug" doesn't deserve a little BLING!!! Word window punch and fancy label punches for the wording and Stampin' Up ! border punch was used on the black under the punch bug and added a little ribbon and there you have it. I left the inside blank so any sentiment could be added...possibilities are endless......
Don't walk.......jump into the punch bug and slide on over to check out all the groovy stuff you can snag for just a little skin; you're gonna love 'em.
Until later, Groovy chicks..........Gotta split...........TFL!!!!! PEACE!!!!!

Elegant & Simple

When I first saw 40's shoe at Stamp N Plus Scrap N I knew it was one I had to have.
It's such a cute stamp, elegant, yet simple.

This was for a black & white challenge and wanted to keep it fairly clean.  I stamped the 40's shoe in Versafine Onyx Black and added some Zva crystals around the shoe to make it stand out. The layered patterned papers are Luxe and I just added a small tied ribbon around the one panel.

Hope you enjoy my creation and come back to visit again tomorrow to see
another wonderful Stamp N Plus Scrap N creation.

Card details:
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock: Basic Black, Luxe patterned paper, Stamper's Select  White
Accessories: Zva Crystals

Welcome

Hello!  It's Lisa posting today!  I hope your week is going well.  I'm always glad when I get to Wednesday and the work week is moving along... and that it's not Monday.  Whew!

I have a card to share with you that I created with my first week's post in mind.

Welcome:

I just love the vintage, homey feel to the Nook and Pantry line by Basic Grey.  The colors remind me of kitchens in the 70's... and somehow that feels like home.  Who knew I'd remember the harvest gold kitchen cabinets with fondness?  Not that I want to renovate my kitchen in that style.

I stamped the Teapot Trio (X1421) in Walnut Stain Distress ink and embossed onto three different patterns of paper from the Nook and Pantry line to paper piece them.  I used a fingertip blade to get in-between the handles.  I also accented each teapot with a little color from coordinating Copic markers.  To add a bit of interest along the bottom of the card, I used a precision scissors to carefully trim along the edge of the lace on the patterned paper.  I think it adds a bit of homey charm, just like Grandma's kitchen table.

Thanks for visiting.  And welcome to Wednesday!  I'd love to hear feedback on the project, ideas on how you'd use the Teapot Trio image... or just a shout out that you prefer Wednesdays to Mondays!

See you next week!
Lisa

It's all Black and White!

I'm sharing my first Blog post as a member of the Stamp N Plus Scrap N Blog Team. I'm excited to share some fun images with you and will have some projects each Tuesday featuring the company's stamps. If you haven't entered yet, see this sites blog post for Sunday, that features the Mega Blog Hop! I really went out of the box creatively for this card! If you've been following me, you'll know that I'm partial to a lot of colour and cutesy images!

Last month, LuAnn, the owner of Stamp N Plus challenged us to make some black and white cards. I had asked her for some wild animal images.........which she has a great selection of in her online store. She indicated that she would send them along and in addition was sending me a few images that I could experiment with. Anyway, I have to say that I had fun creating this card and was fairly pleased with the results considering this is not the norm in regard to my stamping style.

I used Coredinations cardstock as a base for card, which allowed me to cuttlebug and sand off the bottom border to create a distressed look. I stamped the main image in black and the faces in dark grey ink, however I stamped off on scratch paper first to ensure that the background faces didn't over power the main images. You can find these altered art images HERE

I added some additional grey sponging to fill in the light spots on the Top Note Die, A Prima Flower and some silver embellishments to complete the funky look!

Hope you liked this project................waiting for a HUGE order of Tim Holtz distress inks to arrive........I want to start to experiment with some techniques............

I'll be back next Tuesday with another Project from Stamp N Plus Scrap N

Happy Stamping!

Vicki

Meet The Blog Team!

Introducing......

The 2010 Stamp N Plus Scrap N Blog Team
(please click on the pictures to link to the artists' blog)

Hi! My name is Jeanne and I live in Texas. I've been stamping since 2005 and my weapon of choice when it comes to coloring is Copic markers. Stamping is my creative outlet. I’m so excited to get the chance to work with such a fabulous team!

Hey there! I'm Vicki Garrett.......aka Vicki G or Summerthyme64 over on SCS! My love for stamping all started when a coworker brought some stamps in to work for us to play with over lunch! Can you say FUN! I was totally hooked from that point on.

That was about 6 or seven years ago! I am blessed to be part of this group of talented women and truly hope the challenge and
creations that we share bring you motivation, inspiration and pump up that stampin' mojo!

Crystal Rood

Hi....I'm Crystal
I have been doing doing some sort of crafting my whole life. My family were and still are great at giving me kudos for my artwork. My first real paying job was working at Six Flags over GA doing pastel portraits at the age of 16, I was the youngest artist there. I still work with pastels, decorative painting, a few portraits, murals (big money....teehee), sew , crochet, and of course paper crafting.... I have to keep my hands busy doing something all the time. Have worked with many design teams in many different fields along the way and LOVE every minute of it. Do what you love and love what you do!!!!

Kim Howard
I started out scrapbooking pictures of my son. After visiting a friend while on a business trip, I became hooked on stamping and have barely looked back. I still dabble in the scrapbooking but my love is now stamping.
My studio/office is stationed in our basement, where it's nice and cold and hardly any sunlight. You can usually find me getting creative after my 3 kids are tucked into their beds and my husband is planted in front of ESPN.

Kathy Hering

Hello my name is Kathy Hering. I have been stamping for three years. I have been a crafter all my life. I started making my barbie clothes at a young age and have continued doing various crafting projects over the years. I have spent most of my life working in manufacturing jobs and now I am a SAHM of two children, daughter 9 and son 7. I have been married to my hubby for ten years. I love making homemade cards and I am so honored to be on the Stamp N Plus Scrap N design team.

Lisa Silver

My love of paper-crafting officially began five years ago at an in-home workshop. I've been consumed with all things ink, paper and stamps (and to be honest, everything else related to this craft) ever since. I've been an independent concept designer for over 4 years, working for various stamp manufacturers and magazines / publishers. Stamping is a fantastic creative outlet and a stress-reliever from a hectic work life in the chemical industry. The way I've melded both worlds is by educating others in stamping techniques, combining process and creativity. I'm blessed to have a fantastic and supportive husband of nearly 15 years and two wonderful children, Rachel and Jack Ryan. Please stop by and see me at my blog (www.silverstamping.blogspot.com). I love visitors!

Beverly Montez Houston, Texas

My husband and I are empty nesters, having raised four beautiful daughters. We now spend as much time as we can spoiling our four grandchildren.

I have been stamping and paper crafting since the early 1990’s after buying a stamp and markers for my youngest daughter when we were out shopping. I at first balked at spending eight dollars for a large Mickey Mouse Christmas stamp--little did I know what was on the horizon!! After seeing embossing, I was hooked. I also quickly became a paper and tool junkie.

In addition to Stamp’N Plus Scrap’N, I have made sample cards for Papers by Catherine and have had cards published in several rubber stamp magazines. I also have had projects published in Design Originals books by Catherine Mace, and an article in Rubber Stamp magazine.

I am also an avid scrap booker and on two digital scrapbook design teams. For me, there is nothing more relaxing than sitting at my craft desk working on a project and watching an old movie on TCM.

LuAnn Hale~owner Stamp N Plus Scrap N

Stamp N Plus was started in 2001 in the basement of an Antique store as a Stamp and Craft store. In 2002 we purchased our 1st vulcanizer to run our own line of stamps (www.stampnplus.com ). In 2003 we created Chalk-AH-Lot, our powdered chalk products (www.powderedchalk.com ).

Now we no longer operate a store front, focusing on our On Line store.
We run our line of high quality deeply etched rubber stamps in addition to pressing rubber for several other companies.

With the help of my family, husband Ron, children Brian, Frank Hanna Sarah Roni & RJ, their spouses and my grandchildren, I run the Business. In addition, my good friends and fabulous design team members, make up the companies fabulous crew.

I surely hope that you will enjoy the projects that you will see here on the blog~! We have lots of exciting things in store for you here~

Happy Stamping
